Who can we help?

We help predominantly adults with ADHD, however a number of our services are suitable for children aged 8 upwards, including our supported integrated listening system that aids nervous system regulation.

Much of the work we do with adults is around helping them to address anxiety, stress, emotional dysregulation and sometimes trauma, addictions, compulsions, unhealthy habits and relationship issues that have developed as a result of ADHD, as well as supporting them with practical lifestyle changes that make life a little easier.

This is called a top down, bottom up approach: Rebalancing the internal environment (nervous system) so you can cope with the external environment better. Whilst making adjustment to the external environment to support a calmer more regulated internal environment.

If a client is undiagnosed but presents with a history that matches an ADHD profile, then we will discuss whether a formal diagnosis would be beneficial.

Understanding ADHD in Adults

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is often misunderstood as something that only affects children. In reality, many people carry ADHD into adulthood, sometimes without ever having been formally diagnosed.

For adults, ADHD isn’t about being “lazy” or “scattered.” It is a neurodevelopmental difference that affects how the brain manages attention, energy, and regulation.

Common Experiences of Adults with ADHD

  • Attention and focus: You might find it hard to concentrate on tasks that feel boring or overwhelming, while easily “hyper focusing” on things that deeply interest you.
  • Organisation and planning: Everyday tasks such as managing time, staying organised, or meeting deadlines may feel especially challenging. Procrastination is common in ADHD.
  • Impulsivity: Decisions can sometimes be made quickly without much thought, which may lead to frustration later.
  • Emotional regulation: Many adults with ADHD experience strong emotions and can feel easily overwhelmed, sensitive, or reactive.
  • Restlessness and energy: Some people feel physically restless, while others experience a “busy” or racing mind. This can lead to sleep and daily routine issues.
  • Addictions: Unfortunately addictions are more prevalent in those with ADHD due to the ADHD brain seeking the dopamine hit. We can support you in finding healthier activities that will give your brain the dopamine it needs.
  • ADHD traits can be traced back to childhood: Whether diagnosed in childhood or not, one criteria for diagnosis is that some of these traits needed to be present then. The most common ones being; difficulty concentrating / zoning out / daydreaming, talking too much or fooling about in class, reluctance to go to school, not completing homework tasks and other signs of procrastination.

The Hidden Side of ADHD

Because ADHD affects executive functioning, it can influence self-esteem, relationships, and career confidence. Many adults describe living with constant mental noise, a sense of underachieving despite working hard, or struggling with feelings of guilt or shame. But it’s important to remember: ADHD is not a flaw in character—it’s simply a different way the brain works.

The Strengths of ADHD

While ADHD brings challenges, it also comes with strengths. Many adults with ADHD are highly creative, resourceful, intuitive, and resilient. They often thrive in environments that allow variety, innovation, and freedom to think differently. A lot of entrepreneurs have ADHD!

Support and Change

With the right support, whether through therapy, coaching, strategies, or lifestyle changes, adults with ADHD can build effective coping skills and create lives that work with their brain, not against it. Understanding ADHD is the first step toward self-acceptance and positive change.
